Abstract
Planning care is a practical exercise which must be adapted for individual patients. Some background information is provided about 84-year-old Mrs Barker who kept falling at home and who became incontinent. Following this, two nursing problems are outlined, together with their causes, expected outcomes and interventions. Identification of other reasons for Mrs Barker’s problems is required and the expected outcomes and interventions need to be provided; the answers appear at the end of the chapter.
