Abstract

Digital devices operate on a binary number system, making it possible to use Boolean algebra as a method of analysis and design of digital circuits. The expressions may be implemented using logic gates in various combinations (small-scale integration, SSI). More complicated logic functions are available in one package (medium-scale integration, MSI). These include decoders, multiplexers, demultiplexers, comparators and adders.
