Abstract
Chapter 2 was concerned with the basic framework of thermodynamics and, in particular, with its application to energy changes and equilibrium in chemical reactions. In this chapter, thermodynamic principles are applied to the equilibria that can exist within a single material or between the components of a solution or mixture.
