Abstract

Ideally, one should begin with a universally acceptable definition of the concept of entrepreneurship, but it is a peculiarity of this branch of economic history that it has been plagued with almost as many essays discussing the function of the entrepreneur as with detailed case-studies of his actual role at different periods of time.
