Abstract

After the war jazz had been kept alive in the small clubs in New York. Condon’s had kept going all through, and people like Rudi Blesh were getting a serious interest in jazz. East Coast college students, people with money, were taking an interest. Musicians like Josh White and Leadbelly found work.
