Abstract
Revenue projections suggested that seven days a week in the Midlands was the prime contract on offer in 1967, but in the event the London weekday contract proved the most valuable in terms of both revenue and prestige. It contained a quarter of all Britain’s homes, and the successful applicant was destined to become the largest programme-maker in Independent Television.
