Abstract

It is difficult to present a conclusion to a subject that has yet to ‘conclude’. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict in 1987 shows no hope of resolution and the peace movement continues to be active. Indeed, on 28 November, hundreds of Palestinian and Israeli peace activists gathered along the ‘Green Line’ near Jerusalem to mark the fortieth anniversary of the UN General Assembly resolution to partition Palestine. They held placards calling for an end to the occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The demonstration was organised by a new MO called the Committee of Twenty Years of Occupation.
