Part of the book series: Vienna Institute for Comparative Economic Studies ((VICES))

  • 7 Accesses

Abstract

The main theme of this volume — the ninth in a series of studies of East-West Economic Interaction — is the variety of ways in which domestic development prospects and policies are being reassessed, in both East and West, as a result of the disturbances marking the last ten years, and having in mind the continuing uncertainties about the future. The clear needs for such reassessments have evoked a more intensive interest in the formulation of new economic strategies aimed — despite all the uncertainties — at adapting national economic structures to the new conditions of economic progress.
