Abstract
I should like to begin by saying that the very nature of this subject could involve predictions of unmitigated disaster or it could involve predictions of unprecedented success. In fact, in much of what has been written about the future of the pharmaceutical industry, there are best-case and worst-case scenarios, but I will not venture into the nature of their details here. Perhaps, then, a better title for my talk would be, ‘The future of the pharmaceutical industry if what I think will happen, happens’.
