Summary of Conference Proceedings

  • Chapter
Peripheral Actions of Dopamine

Abstract

There have been many recent exciting developments in research into peripheral actions of DA. The rate at which these research efforts have proceeded was a surprise even to the group of involved researchers when they met in August 1987 for the Melbourne conference on Peripheral Actions of Dopamine. This was despite the fact that it was just on 12 months since many of the group had participated in the Gent Symposium (see Clin. Exp. Hypertension, A9, Nos. 5, 6, 1987). The following comments are made in an attempt to highlight the wide range of topical issues that were addressed in free communications and discussion sessions in Melbourne. Our hope is that the reader will gain some appreciation of current research trends.
