Conrad in Cardiff
A rising novelist has been staying at Cardiff for the last few days in the person of Mr Joseph Conrad. Mr Conrad was the guest of Mr Spiridion, at whose residence in Cathedral Road he was seen by one of our representatives. Mr Conrad is the author of Aylmer’s [sic] Folly and other works, and his novels have appeared both in serial and book form. He is tall, dark and of decidedly Celtic appearance; and questioned as to the affinity between the Celts and the Poles — Mr Conrad is himself a child of that downtrodden and unhappy nation — he replied that they have much in common, the temperament of both being dreamy, poetic and romantic.
