Abstract

Due to a combination of several basic factors the police agents in the SR party profoundly influenced its development and this significant element must be taken into account when studying the party’s history. These factors were interconnected. Some of them derived from the police perception of the possible uses of the secret agents, and the manner in which they attempted to put it in practice, while others stem from features that were unique to the party itself.
