Abstract

IF YOU have just read Women in Love for the first time, you may well be unsure what to make of it. It is the most experimental of Lawrence’s novels and represents his most radical break with traditional conventions of novel-writing. Don’t let this put you off, however, for it is a great novel, and as you work on it you will come to get hold of its distinctive greatness for yourself. As ever, the best way to start is by constructing a plot synopsis.
