Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the changing role of the Peruvian state in the process of capital accumulation under four recent political administrations, namely the two periods of office of President Belaúnde (1963–8 and 1980–84) and the intervening years of military rule under Presidents Velasco (1968–75) and Morales (1975–80).
