Abstract
Until quite recently migraine was not thought to be a children’s complaint and its occurrence was probably often dismissed as a ‘bilious attack’. However, research has suggested that at least 10 per cent of adults experience a migraine attack at some time, often without realising exactly what it is, and a recent survey of 2 000 sufferers indicated that about 13 per cent of them had had their first attack before the age of 10. An estimated three-quarters of a million children under ten are migraine sufferers.
