Abstract
In a substantial experimental study of cheating many years ago Hartshorne and May came to the conclusion that almost everyone, as a child or as an adult, has cheated at some time. Among school children they found that only 6 per cent never cheat so, in a sense, it is ‘non-cheating’ rather than ‘cheating’ that constitutes ’abnormal’ behaviour among school children.
