Abstract

As far back as I can remember I used to love the family picnics and gatherings that we had in Louisiana in those early days. One of the big things in my life was to look forward to going to the picnics and cotton-picking parties out there in the country districts. All my family and the other people would get together and everybody would fix picnic baskets with all kinds of different cold meats, cakes, and things like that. Sometimes they would have moonlight picnics, too.
