Abstract
I was doing the gigs at the Metropole and also at Condon’s saloon when one day in 1963 I received an offer to go to England and work with Humphrey Lyttelton. I hadn’t known too much about Humphrey but I used to hear Pops talk about the cat in England who swings his ass off. I knew he had a band but that was about all I knew about him. I was very happy at the thought of playing with him and I packed my bags and headed for London. This tour was different than the one that I had made with my group before. I had Humph to tell me all about the different places we played and before long I was beginning to know all of the most interesting places in England.
