Abstract
This chapter synthesizes the discussions of the panelists’ papers on the role of the superpowers and other regional forces in the countries of Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan. An attempt has been made to retain the flavor of the discussions by identifying the speakers with their comments, but verbatim quotations have generally been avoided.
