Abstract

Normally the management of an Honour School is the responsibility of the Board of a specific Faculty. The scope of Modern Greats, however, was wider than the responsibilities of any existing Faculty and, therefore, the Statute creating it provided for a Board of Studies. This was composed of twelve members: four elected by the Lit. Hum. Board and two each by the Modern History Board and the Committee for Economics and Political Science, all from among their own members. These eight could co-opt four other members.
