Abstract
During the workshop on Emerging Technologies and Military Doctrine, on which this book is based, there was an interesting dialogue between Charles Dick and Lutz Unterseher on the military effectiveness of the SAS concept explained in Chapter 8. We have asked Charles and Lutz to reconstruct this dialogue on paper, which they kindly did. Although justice cannot be done to their positions in this small space, the reader will get some idea of the kind of issues involved in a military evaluation of a non-provocative defence.
