Monopoly and Competition in Western Germany

  • Chapter
Monopoly and Competition and their Regulation

Abstract

Owing to the scarcity of statistics and research on German market structure, it is difficult to obtain a picture of the size of firms and degree of concentration even for single markets and industries. This is particularly true of manufacturing industries. The most important basic industries (coal, iron, and chemicals) as well as the film companies are at present being ‘ deconcentrated ’ in accordance with Allied regulations.

Edited and translated from the German by J. Kahane.
