Abstract
The primary aim of this chapter is to analyse the most significant spatial effects of state interventionism in Peru during the military docenio (1968–1980). Particular attention will be given to the key effect of the reinforcement of territorial centralization, and the regulation of a territorial economy with a strong external articulation. In the final part of the chapter the reproduction of unequal spatial development will be linked to the emergence of a number of regional social conflicts and the resurgence of the regional problem.
