Comprehension and Varieties of English
Part of the
Macmillan Work Out Series
book series (MCWO)

The contents and the emphasis of the separate papers differ accordingly. Nevertheless, the focal point of English Literature studies is English.
That is why, whatever its immediate ‘targets’, each paper is necessarily a test of:
(1) your understanding of the varied ways in which language works;
(2) your ability to give a clear and reasoned account of how writers make language work, whether in set books or in passages set for critical appreciation.
