Abstract

As well as the hiring and firing of staff and the legislation connected with these activities the Personnel Department — see Section 1.4 — is also responsible for seeing that other governmental regulations are observed. In addition to health, safety and working conditions, see later in this chapter, there are several other Acts which affect terms of employment. Among these the following are worthy of attention but because legislation is constantly changing you are advised to keep a record of new Acts.
