Abstract

Office workers who have never taken typewriting, and many workers who have taken and passed public examinations in typewriting, may find that the style of layout used varies considerably from firm to firm. This does not mean that the styles taught in English lessons or those accepted by the public examining bodies in typewriting are incorrect — any more than it means that any particular firm does not know what it is doing. It simply means that there are several ways of setting out letters — and each is correct.
