Abstract
British Telecom, the principal supplier of telecommunications services in the UK, is one of world’s largest public telecommunications operators. With an annual turnover of nearly £8 billion, trading profits of £1480 million for the year 1984–85, and 235,000 staff on the payroll, it is also one of the UK’s largest companies.
