Abstract
The microprocessor is the heart of any computer. It is a high-density integrated circuit with the ability to move bytes from one place to another, to add bytes together, to multiply two bytes together, and so on. It contains its own set of instructions, called an instruction set, which is built into the integrated circuit. Instructions can be dialled up by placing ‘0’s and ‘1’s on the external control connections of the microprocessor.
