Abstract

The most important event of the middle thirties in AB’s area was the growing Italo-Abyssinian tension, culminating in the Italian occupation which was to last until the spring of 1941. The Abyssinian War and its by-product, the private duel between AB and the Fascist Government, will be dealt with later in a separate chapter. Meanwhile so much else was happening in the firm of Besse that a complete account would fill several volumes. We can only give a few selected aspects and episodes, as illustrations of AB in action.
