Morphology and morphometry of human muscle spindles

  • Chapter

Abstract

Muscle spindles are found in nearly all the human skeletal muscles; however, other than their relative frequency in the intrinsic hand muscles, there are very few studies wherein the spindles from various muscles have been systematically examined (Cooper & Daniel, 1963; Swash & Fox, 1972). In this study, we report on the morphology and morphometry of muscle spindles from various skeletal muscles.
