Abstract

Rose and Percy Grainger arrived in London in May 1901, Percy having been engaged by a fellow Australian, soprano Lilian Devlin, to assist at her “second grand concert” in the St James Hall on 11 June. This was Percy’s debut appearance in England. On 13 June the British Australasian announced that Grainger would be staying in London for the season.
