Abstract
Today the world is still dominated by capitalism. This means that Marx’s analysis of capital must remain the basis for understanding twentieth-century economic development. This does not deny that capitalism has changed, but the fundamental relations of production are unaltered: the monopoly of means of production and their operating for profit by capital, with wage-slavery for labour.
