Abstract
For the student, Hamlet presents problems of interpretation which arise, some of them inescapably from the text, some from critical commentary or the acting tradition. This second kind divide into those worth taking seriously, and those which have to be discussed solely in order to dismiss them. Non-problems have their origin sometimes in doubts or questions the play does not admit.
