Abstract
Mansfield Park is the home of Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram and their children. Lady Bertram has two sisters. The eldest, Mrs Norris, is married to the rector of Mansfield, and the younger, Mrs Price, to a lieutenant of marines. The Prices have too little money for bringing up their numerous children, so on the instigation of Mrs Norris, much thought is given to the question of bringing one of the children, Fanny, to Mansfield, to be educated with the Bertram girls.
