Abstract
The double labelling test which evaluates the [3H]- dopa mine (DA) uptake and the [14C]DA release by striatal synaptosomes (Bonnet et al., 1984), revealed that numerous antidepressant drugs inhibit [3H]DA uptake at the same high concentrations that produce [14C]DA release (Lemasson et al., 1984). Therefore, we suggested that the inhibition of DA uptake was artefactual and could represent the releasing effect of antidepressants, which induced the release of [3H]DA as fast as its uptake by synaptosomes.
