Abstract

When assessment is deemed necessary, the course specification for the British Education Council National Awards gives us clues as to how performances in these case-study exercises might be assessed. It states that the general objectives for Common Core Module 1 are to develop, inter alia, a student’s ability to ‘identify false argument; formulate rational arguments; respond flexibly to personal factors; engage in constructive discussion; … understand the constraints and opportunities of group working’ and ‘respond constructively to the contributions of others’.
