Abstract

Production can be defined as the activity which converts raw materials into manufactured goods. There are those who would suggest that the manufacturer produces goods which he then tries to sell. Others would say the manufacturer anticipates the needs of the public and then produces goods which will satisfy those needs. The truth generally lies somewhere between these notions.
