Abstract

Communication involves the transmission of ideas, feelings and attitudes. It represents an interchange of thoughts on a particular subject. Many people would imagine that it is easy to communicate, but that is patently not the case. Inadequate communication leads to many divorces, not a few strikes, and even to international conflicts on occasion. It is certainly a major problem in life generally, and in business particularly. The point is that business units tend to get larger and larger, in order to achieve economies of scale, and larger businesses have more communication problems than their smaller counterparts.
