Abstract
Character graphics apart, computer graphics should deal with objects (points, lines, areas, volumes) from a continuous two-dimensional or three-dimensional Euclidean space. Objects are measured in real units (inches, miles or even light-years) and not as an integral number of pixels. This is the reason why WINDOW was introduced in release 2.0 of the Advanced BASIC interpreter. This chapter considers the methods used for mapping real-world objects (such as lines, points, circles etc.), defined in terms of such real measurement, onto the screen matrix of pixels.
