Abstract

We have covered a rather vast ground in this book in the temptation not to lose any information collected or experience gained during our interviews and field trips in the province of Hunan. A short stay in a country as vast as China hardly makes it possible to draw any meaningful conclusions. Nor does the rapidly changing character of Hunan and the Chinese economy.
