Abstract
When I was given this title, my first thought was: “How many models of clinical decision-making are there?” At first sight, there appear to be many, but further reflection convinces me that many of them are variations on the same theme. My thesis will be that there are only two basic models, which I have called patient-centred and doctor-centred.
