Abstract

The different political threats which weigh upon the West have been set out and discussed elsewhere. My task is to address the question of military threats. These are a function of Moscow’s intended international policy, of the degree of determination shown in putting this policy into effect and in seeing it through to completion, as well as of the nature and scope of Soviet armed forces.
