Abstract

The front wheels on a normal vehicle rotate on stub axles which swivel or pivot about what is known as the ‘swivel axis’. This provides a means of steering the vehicle. To make the stub axles pivot a control gear, operated by the driver via the steering wheel, and a linkage to the stub axles is necessary.
