Abstract

The suspension on a vehicle performs two functions:

  1. 1.

It insulates the vehicle body, hence the passengers or load, from shocks as the vehicle travels over irregularities in the road surface.

  2. 2.

It assists in keeping the tyres in close contact with the road surface to ensure adequate adhesion for accelerating, braking and cornering.
