Warrants for the use of traffic signals

Abstract

Current criteria for the installation of traffic signals in Great Britain are contained in Technical Memorandum H1/73 issued by the Department of the Environment. Each intersection is considered on the basis of traffic flow, pedestrian safety, accident record and traffic conflicts, and savings in manpower due to the elimination of manual control.
