Abstract

My discussion today will be about US military power, and will touch on our need to redress two decades of neglect of our defence establishment. Specifically, I want to highlight the goals and purposes of our defence policy, and discuss in some detail the content of the 1983 defence budget in functional terms, since it is so critically important a force for determining the strength of US military power.

Address given to the RUSI on 20 April 1982
