Abstract

The manufacturing procedures that are applied to prisms depend on the use to which the final prism will be put. Prisms with superficially similar forms often have very different tolerancing schemes, depending on where they occur in an optical pathway and whether they are used as reflecting elements or refractive deviating elements.
