Abstract

The broad and multifaceted economic cooperation which presently takes place between Finland and the Soviet Union is the result of determined work. Over the years, the two countries have built up a unique system of agreements regulating economic activities, with the 1948 Treaty of Friendship, Co-operation and Mutual Assistance as its foundation. The fifth article of the treaty expresses the parties’ firm desire to develop and strengthen their economic relations.
