Abstract
In this paper I would like to take the opportunity of asking some questions which have occurred to me in the context of research into communication behaviour. These questions were stimulated by other queries which arose during my work. The first was ‘What are nurses’ attitudes to pre-operative information giving?’; the second was ‘How can social skills, in particular interviewing skills be trained and assessed?’
