Abstract
For over a decade, the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) has played a central role in efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons. In the years since its negotiations, the treaty has been the subject of a great many scholarly discourses, legal analyses, and politically motivated affirmations and denunciations. Recent upheavals in international nuclear relations have generated intensified speculation on its possible role in a future non-proliferation regime.
